This tranquil cottage is located 5 miles outside the historic market town of Ashbourne, far enough away to escape the hustle and bustle of the town but still only a short drive away.
On the ground floor you will find a fully equipped kitchen offering a dishwasher, washing machine, fridge/freezer and microwave. It then flows into the dining room which has a dining table to seat four guests, once you have finished your dinner you can wind down in front of the wood burner on the comfy sofas. Upstairs you will find a bathroom, refurbished in 2021, which has a bath and separate cubicle shower. There are two bedrooms, the master has a double bed and the second bedroom is a twin. Outside there is ample garden space with a courtyard to the front and a lawned area, and then a courtyard to the rear with stunning views over the fields. Ashbourne has much to offer, the town itself is full of local shops, restaurants and bars. Ashbourne is known as the gateway to the famous Dovedale with its stepping stones and the Peak District. The cottages only a 20-minute drive from Alton Towers theme park.

What a fabulous cottage in a wonderfully quiet spot. The cottage was equipped with everything needed for a lovely holiday, and there was plenty of space to relax. The beds were very comfortable. Lots of parking space. We found the property easily. Other comments about the stairs are understandable, but we didn’t struggle with them and wouldn’t describe them as narrow at all. They are comically creaky but it made us laugh! Lovely touch to be left with bird food to top up the feeders, we saw lots including nuthatches, which was delightful. We have already looked at booking again!

Hollywell Cottage is delightful & the best equipped I have ever rented.It IS very rural, & a little tricky to find (SatNav gives 'central point' past the gateway) but neighbour further along the lane very helpful & friendly.ASHBOURNE not far - excellent independent shops (Books/Fruit/Bakery/Butchers to name but a few). Plenty of Cafes & Eateries for all occasions. Will definitely stay again!!

This is a beautiful cottage, it has everything we needed, was very clean & comfortable. Very peaceful location and a quick drive to Ashbourne for all amenities including a fabulous Chinese takeaway.We had a small issue with the internet going down but the owners were very quick to get back to me even though they were on holiday to walk us through fixing it ( turns out it was just a tripped switch) I would happily recommend this cottage to anyone
