This tranquil cottage is located 5 miles outside the historic market town of Ashbourne, far enough away to escape the hustle and bustle of the town but still only a short drive away.
On the ground floor you will find a fully equipped kitchen offering a dishwasher, washing machine, fridge/freezer and microwave. It then flows into the dining room which has a dining table to seat four guests, once you have finished your dinner you can wind down in front of the wood burner on the comfy sofas. Upstairs you will find a bathroom, refurbished in 2021, which has a bath and separate cubicle shower. There are two bedrooms, the master has a double bed and the second bedroom is a twin. Outside there is ample garden space with a courtyard to the front and a lawned area, and then a courtyard to the rear with stunning views over the fields. Ashbourne has much to offer, the town itself is full of local shops, restaurants and bars. Ashbourne is known as the gateway to the famous Dovedale with its stepping stones and the Peak District. The cottages only a 20-minute drive from Alton Towers theme park.

Very attractive cottage in a lovely spot. Beautiful garden. Our only moan is the stairs. I know the description mentions possible steep stairs but they are very steep with only a short banister so if you have any sort of physical problem (arthritis, rheumatism etc) be aware. I have a slightly dodgy hip and I found the stairs tricky because of the short banister. They also creek very loudly which is disconcerting. Apart from that we had a good time.

The cottage is in an ideal country setting with beautiful gardens and great scenery. The cottage itself is inviting and comfortable. I would recommend this holiday property to others. The bed is clean and comfortable and we had everything we needed for our stay. My partner and I would love to stay there again in the future.
