A particularly delightful and exceptionally spacious farmhouse set amidst mature gardens with lush lawns and a shared flood-lit all weather surface tennis court. A superb holiday property for the larger family party or groups of families with the house having the benefit of a lower ground floor, with games room and snooker room with full size snooker table and table tennis table. There is an electric range with a double oven as well as a separate cooker in the kitchen. Excellently situated in a rural location on the outskirts of the tiny village of Somersal Herbert, but approximately 9 miles from the bustling market town of Ashbourne. Alton Towers is only 7 miles away. Can be booked with properties W40521, W7921, W7922 and W8968 for larger groups. Shop, pub and restaurant 2 miles.
For holidays taken between 1st Oct and 1st May please remember to send your fuel supplement of 120 GBP to the owner 1 week prior to your holiday. Fuel supplement payable by cheque or bacs. There are hot tubs available at £300, first come first serve basis.

If you like your holiday retreats to be away from it all this is the place for you. This is a large spacious farm house which does have all the necessary equipment. The grounds were very pleasant and the children played ball games on the grass. We could all eat in the spacious kitchen.It is, however, remote and only accessible down single track roads. It is about a mile from a main road. The 11 of us including 5 children enjoyed our stay. Our pet niggle was the unnecessarily strong door closers on virtually all doors and unless we propped the doors open the youngest children (aged 7) could not open them. The other niggle was the noise made at regular intervals all the time by a pump, possibly for the septic tank.While the accommodation had all that was required the whole place needs a makeover, it is looking tired. There is no electric car charging point and no airfryer. The 2 range cookers work OK but there is no way of telling what the controls are turning on except by trial and error. Some of the power points don't work and the batteries in the remote controls were dead.A qualified recommendation.
