Guests say

Catmint Cottage is a cosy and homely property with a welcoming atmosphere, often praised for its comfortable furnishings and peaceful location. Guests appreciate the thoughtful welcome packs and the property's suitability for family and pet-friendly holidays. The garden and nearby meadow add to the charm, making it a favoured spot for those looking to explore the Peak District.

Most guests found the cottage clean and tidy, contributing to a comfortable stay. However, a few mentioned issues with dog hair, mucky floors, and a stained mattress protector, suggesting room for improvement in cleanliness standards.

The location is highly praised for its peacefulness, proximity to walking trails, and ease of access to local attractions like Chatsworth House and Matlock. The nearby pub and village amenities are also appreciated, although one review mentioned traffic noise.

Guests consistently describe the cottage as cosy, warm, and homely, with comfortable beds and a toasty heating system. Some minor discomforts were noted, such as a small duvet and early morning traffic noise for light sleepers.

The cottage is well-equipped and offers good amenities, with a special mention of the garden and meadow. However, there are reports of maintenance issues like a leaky shower, problematic TV, and dated bathrooms, indicating that some facilities could benefit from updates or repairs.

The welcome packs, including treats for dogs, are frequently highlighted and contribute to the cottage's charm. While these gestures are greatly appreciated, it's important to note that such amenities are subject to change and may not be guaranteed for every stay.

It was a lovely place to stay and the welcome basket was so kind of them. We did have issues with the TV as no matter what we tried it simply wouldn't work, luckily they had board games which was much appreciated. Also the shower leaked through the ceiling only a few drops (its an old house these things happen) but did mean we had to avoid that shower luckily we had the bath shower combo that we had no issues with. Everything else was lovely and the stream was beautiful. The Christmas decorations were a nice touch. It felt very homely. The kitchen crockery was well stocked, there were four of us and we only had to do the pots every other day, though we could have gotten away with doing them less if we wanted to. Overall it was a excellent place to stay, would love to stay again at some point.
