Lovely cottage in a lovely little quirky market town, with outstanding views - an ideal location for getting around in Derbyshire - the town itself has an abundance of pubs eateries and gorgeous coffee shops- although we didn’t use them Wirksworth is on a good bus route too - fabulous stay - thank you

We were looking for a short break in or near the Peak District. Wirksworth fitted the bill. It is an old mining town with stone built houses and several pubs with a good range of beers. Most do food but Le Mistral bistro serves excellent French food and is not too expensive. The cottage is within a few hundred yards of the centre and close to the old steam railway to Duffield. It is small but not cramped and is well appointed with all you need for self catering. There is an excellent butchers, a supermarket behind the filling station, a couple of convenience stores and weekly markets.
