A lovely, cosy, clean, well equipped cottage in a great location. Wirksworth is a lovely village, perfect for exploring the Peak District.

We were looking for a short break in or near the Peak District. Wirksworth fitted the bill. It is an old mining town with stone built houses and several pubs with a good range of beers. Most do food but Le Mistral bistro serves excellent French food and is not too expensive. The cottage is within a few hundred yards of the centre and close to the old steam railway to Duffield. It is small but not cramped and is well appointed with all you need for self catering. There is an excellent butchers, a supermarket behind the filling station, a couple of convenience stores and weekly markets.

Loved the cottage, ideal for what we needed.Extremely comfortable and very clean on arrival. Cottage is ideally situated for the centre of Wirksworth for pubs, cafes and restaurants.Old railway station across the road and steam trains run on a Friday and Saturday in summer.On street parking is a challenge but we did travel in August but various options are available if needed.Would definitely recommend the cottage and the area and would be keen to book again as Wirksworth was a very pleasant location.
