Situated on the outskirts of the Peak District in an idyllic position with outstanding views, this remarkable pre-Victorian property is an exemplary base from which to explore the national park. It has an interesting history with links to Florence Nightingale and oozes tradition and character. It sleeps ten guests and has masses of space, perfect for groups of friends looking to enjoy the adventures waiting in the Peak District.
Tucked in a pretty spot in the village of Holloway, this beautiful stone home is truly superb throughout. With elegant decor and furnishings, original tiled floors and fireplaces, and loads of space to socialise, it’ll be hard to tear yourself away. Downstairs you’ll find a fabulous conservatory and also a separate games room with a pool table - a great opportunity to get competitive and have group tournaments in the evening. Upstairs are four bedrooms and three bathrooms. Outside is a delightful, secluded garden with lawn space, patio area, pond and lots of shrubbery bringing in a mix of wildlife.
Groups who love to explore the great outdoors will find this home well-situated to do just that. Holloway is a lovely village with a coffee shop and a couple of stores, surrounded by walking and cycling routes. Head into the Peak District National Park and visit the trails that take walkers through the fells and tors. Visit the diverse landscape of Dovedale Nature Reserve (19 miles), which has woodland, rock formations and a river running through it. Those who love the water can head to Carsington Water (10.5 miles) for kayaking, paddleboarding or fishing.
