This charming holiday cottage sits alongside Cromford Mill Pond and the centre of this historic village. From inside or out you can relax and watch the wild fowl cruise the pond. The pond was used to feed the Arkwright Mill and the wheel is still turning. An ideal location with excellent walks nearby leading to Black Rocks, High Peak Trail, Cromford Mills and canal. Carsington Water with watersports and birdwatching is within easy reach. Matlock Bath only 1 mile and Abraham Heights and Gullivers Kingdom. Matlock for antiques and shops is 2 miles. Visit the old market town of Bakewell and sample the famous Bakewell pudding in one of the many tea rooms. Just a few miles from here is Chatsworth House and medieval Haddon Hall. Shop and pub 50 yards, restaurant 100 yards.

Nicely located cottage for many attractions and good bus and train services to Matlock, Bakewell and Buxton. We felt the cottage was in need of an update, albeit it was well equipped and comfortable.Sadly, Cromford as many other villages, is suffering with closed pubs and restaurants, though the centrally located hotel is due to open again in the near future. One good pub still remains.
