This charming holiday cottage sits alongside Cromford Mill Pond and the centre of this historic village. From inside or out you can relax and watch the wild fowl cruise the pond. The pond was used to feed the Arkwright Mill and the wheel is still turning. An ideal location with excellent walks nearby leading to Black Rocks, High Peak Trail, Cromford Mills and canal. Carsington Water with watersports and birdwatching is within easy reach. Matlock Bath only 1 mile and Abraham Heights and Gullivers Kingdom. Matlock for antiques and shops is 2 miles. Visit the old market town of Bakewell and sample the famous Bakewell pudding in one of the many tea rooms. Just a few miles from here is Chatsworth House and medieval Haddon Hall. Shop and pub 50 yards, restaurant 100 yards.

We’ve just had a fabulous week away in Derbyshire staying at Mill Pond Cottage. The cottage is in a great location for exploring the area and offers a real home-from-home experience. Having off-road parking right next to the cottage was a big bonus too.The property is maintained to a very high standard, and the extra touches provided by the owner were a real treat. During our stay we visited Cromford Mill and enjoyed a sweet treat at Arkwrights Café. We can also highly recommend The Boat Inn for lunch or dinner — it has a great menu and is only a short walk from the cottage. We had pre-booked tickets for the Christmas Market at Haddon Hall near Bakewell, which certainly didn’t disappoint. We also went to Belper for the day and spent time in Matlock Bath and Matlock during our visit.We will certainly be back for another stay!

A perfect cottage. Excellent kitchen with everything we needed even a teapot. We found the cottage comfortable and warm and perfectly clean. Milk and biscuit plus the flowers were a lovely touch. Great views over the pond was a delight ever morning. The local pub and shops are a bonus. parking for one car is a bonus, just got dirty from the passing quarry lorries.WE would defiantly staying again if in the area. Thank for our perfect relaxing holiday.

Mill Pond Cottage is conveniently situated meaning that the car could stay at home. All local amenities were within walking distance eh Heights of Abraham, Cromford Canal Boat ride, Local Mills along with numerous walks. A local pub and chip shop are available again within walking distance. Mill Pond Cottage is well equipped and value for money. We shall return.
