Guests say

Deerpark Lodge is highly praised for its unique, private setting and beautiful surroundings, offering a tranquil and comfortable retreat. Guests appreciate the well-equipped lodge, cosy atmosphere with a wood burner, and the delightful welcome hamper. While some minor issues are noted, the overall experience is one of relaxation and enjoyment in a stunning location.

Most guests found the lodge to be clean and well-maintained, though there were isolated comments about dust under beds and windows needing cleaning. The majority of reviews, however, do not raise cleanliness as an issue, suggesting a high standard overall.

The location is consistently lauded for its beauty, tranquility, and the abundance of walking trails. The lodge's setting in a country estate near a National Trust property adds to its appeal, with guests enjoying the natural surroundings and wildlife.

Guests find the lodge comfortable, with a cosy wood burner and a welcoming feel. However, some guests mentioned that the beds could be larger and more comfortable, especially for taller individuals, and there were comments about the showers' water flow.

While the lodge is praised for being well-equipped, there are several mentions of maintenance issues such as leaks, blocked drains, and problems with the shower and dishwasher. These issues suggest that while the facilities are generally good, there is room for improvement in maintenance.

The welcome hamper is frequently mentioned and appreciated by guests, indicating a high level of thoughtfulness. However, it should be noted that such gifts are a kind gesture and may not be guaranteed for every stay.

For us this place was perfect: peaceful, quiet, great for dog walking, surrounded by nature. The place was very clean, well equipped and resourced. The bed was comfortable, wifi/TV etc all worked fine. We had a wobble when we read a note saying the hot water was linked to the wood burner (it was warm while we were there so no need for a fire), but the immersion delivered plenty enough for baths etc. Our only suggestion would be that a visible sign on the road would be very useful as the turn off is very easy to miss. For dog owners we would flag up that the dog does need to be on a leash in much off the estate (not great with a cocker spaniel) and the saw no bins for getting rid of poo-bags. But the walks are excellent otherwise, the nursery is terrific; coffee at the deli was not great.
