Psalter Farmhouse stands detached on the edge of the Lincolnshire Wolds, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, in a rural location. Just over a mile away is the local pub (with bar and restaurant) at Skendleby Psalter. The Farmhouse offers plenty of space for all the family with two living rooms, one with an ornamental open fire, a large traditional conservatory/games room and large garden, which is perfect to retire to after a long day exploring the area.
The coastal resort of Skegness is just 10 miles away, with its sandy beaches and traditional amusements. For those wishing to explore the area, there are great walks and cycle routes straight from the door, as well as many good country pubs for refreshments along the way. Local market towns include Alford, Spilsby, Louth and Horncastle, famous for its many antique and collectable shops, are also only a short drive. The Battle of Britain Memorial Flight and Visitor Centre is based at Coningsby, only a 20-minute drive away, or visit East Kirkby Airfield, with its Lancaster Bomber, just 15-minute drive away and a must for wwii enthusiasts. Lincoln, famous for its cathedral, castle and Magna Carta Visitor Centre is only 40 minutes away. Beach 10 miles. Shop 2 miles, pub and restaurant 1¼ miles.

Booked this property for my 30th birthday and it was a huge disappointment. Upon arrival we discovered that the hot tub was not working and despite this being raised with management, it could not be fixed at any point during our stay. This was particularly disappointing as the hot tub was one of the key facilities we had paid for and was a big part of why we chose the property. Whilst I appreciate that this is a farmhouse and some insects are to be expected, the overall cleanliness was not up to an acceptable standard. My bedroom alone had over 10 large spiders, there were lots of flies throughout the property, and the outside furniture was covered in bird droppings and appeared not to have been cleaned for some time. The BBQ had also clearly not been cleaned after the previous guests with leftover food still inside and a bun left on the grill when we arrived. We also encountered a number of other issues including a leaking fridge, lights that did not work in the games room, and problems with the toilet flushing. On several occasions, we had to use a bucket of water to help flush it properly. Unfortunately, the number of issues significantly affected what was supposed to be a special birthday stay. We requested a partial refund due to the hot tub being unavailable for the entirety of our stay, given that it was one of the advertised facilities we had paid for. However, the owner refused our request outright. Based on our experience, I would not recommend staying here. It was incredibly disappointing to feel that despite raising multiple issues, there was very little effort to resolve them or acknowledge the impact they had on our stay. I would give 0 stars if that were an option.

We had an excellent stay at the farmhouse with three families. The space was superb and exactly what we needed. I'd highly recommend it to anyone looking for a getaway with a larger group – fantastic value for money too! The hosts were very responsive whenever we had any questions or issues. Thanks so much for a wonderful stay!
