Guests say

Guests have enjoyed the tranquil, rural setting of the Red Brick Barn, appreciating the clean accommodation, comfortable beds, and the private hot tub. The property's proximity to local attractions and the option for on-site wine tasting add to its charm. While some minor maintenance issues and the lack of a welcome pack were noted, the overall experience has been positive, with many guests expressing a desire to return.

The property generally receives high praise for cleanliness, with guests noting it as spotless. However, a few mentioned areas for improvement, such as dust and cobwebs, slightly lowering the score.

The location is highly regarded for its peaceful rural setting and proximity to local towns and attractions. The enclosed garden and the option for wine tasting on-site are appreciated, contributing to a high score.

Guests find the beds and bamboo bedding very comfortable, and the property is described as modern and cosy. Some guests mentioned the beds being a bit uncomfortable, which affects the score slightly.

The facilities, including the hot tub and kitchen, are well-received, but there are comments about maintenance issues like power trips and a lack of sharp knives. The absence of an EV charger, contrary to the listing, also impacts this score.

While guests have suggested the addition of a welcome pack, there is no consistent mention of gifts or thoughtful touches provided by the hosts, so it is not possible to score this category.

We really enjoyed our weekend stay in this barn. When we go to any cottages/barns we always go for peace & quiet , we like to chill away from the usual hustle & bustle of our daily lives, we don’t usually go out apart from a few walks in the local area so my review reflects on this personal experience. The master bedroom was really nice with a comfy bed , wall mounted clothes rail, dresser & wall mounted tv , the bathroom was nice , shower pressure wasn’t high but ok, towels provided ( bring your own hot tub towels). The kitchen was ok plenty of pot’s , pans crockery etc for cooking - some sharp knives would have been a good addition, we managed with the fridge space for a few days. Plenty of cupboards/work surface - unfortunately there was no tea/coffee or the advertised welcome pack. We didn’t use the second bedroom except for storing our bags etc. The garden/patio is lovely and the hot tub was a great addition , however he power did trip 3 times within a short time , don’t forget to switch the hot tub back on if this happens whilst you are there - a process of elimination we think it was the fire place in the living room that was the culprit of the problem. I would have like to have had the gate/fence near the hot tub covered for privacy. The separate living room was very spacious- mix of decor though neither old nor modern but nice , a bigger tv would have been better for our needs. Also it has beautiful bi-fold doors onto the garden but no window blinds/curtains. We were lucky with the weather , we even sat outside for our dinner one day. The barn is heated with electric heaters in each room which was fine. This review is personal to our stay, it is a lovely property but could be outstanding with a few tweaks . I have told friends about it & the discounted price we paid was a fair price - would we return? - yes at the right price but we would know what to expect however these few observation tweaks would really make this barn brilliant , more comfortable & better equipped for a even better experience. Again this is our personal view.Ps the caretaker was very prompt with answering our questions via text

We had a lovely stay at the Red Brick barn. Unfortunately though during our stay, the TV in the lounge did not work properly, this was reported. And there was not hot water in the shower for two days due to a burst water pipe, this was reported but was out of control from the owners. It was fixed but the road remained closed which resulted in a 6 mile detour which was a pain Overall the accommodation was brilliant, and having to leave the barn to get into the lounge wasn't a problem. The only thing I think they should add is a welcome pack. I stay in cottages a lot and this was the only one without one. Thank you to Fraser and Jodie, we will be back.
