Guests say

Coast Guard Cottage is praised for its cleanliness, quaint decor, and comfortable furnishings, with a particularly enjoyable hot tub. The proximity to a good pub and river walks adds to the charm, though the location near a busy road is noted. Some minor issues with maintenance and amenities were mentioned, but overall guests had a relaxing stay.

The cottage is consistently described as very clean, with one guest noting the need to clean outdoor seating. The interior cleanliness receives high remarks, contributing to a high score.

The location receives mixed reviews. Guests appreciate the nearby pub and river walks, but the proximity to a busy road and the less appealing views are drawbacks. The necessity of having a car due to the cottage's seclusion is also mentioned.

Comfort is generally well-regarded, with mentions of a super comfy bed and a clean, comfortable environment. However, concerns about the quality of mattresses and potential space constraints for larger groups slightly lower the score.

Facilities like the hot tub are a highlight, though there were issues with its temperature and cleanliness. The lack of certain amenities such as shower gel, shampoo, and a dish cloth are noted. Overall, maintenance concerns affect the score.

There are no specific mentions of gifts or extra thoughtful touches provided by the hosts, so it is not possible to score this category. However, the host's helpfulness and good communication are positively noted.

Great simple cottage for a short break, the hot tub is fab! Great pub opposite and lovely river walks but views from cottage aren't lovely.Very relaxing couple of days

The cottage itself is quaint and lovely but the area and surroundings aren’t all that you would expect. The cottage is straight off a main busy road and the road itself looks very shabby. We didn’t use the hot tub as we couldn’t get it to temperature and there was no chlorine smell so we were a bit wary of using it. I had to clean all the seating and table outside as it hadn’t been cleaned. The cottage inside was clean except there wasn’t any shower gel or shampoo which would have been a lovely touch. There was also no dish cloth so you had to use the dishwasher. Both mattresses had seen better days, you could feel every spring on the double bed with the bunk bed and the mattress in the main bedroom slanted down towards the window!!

Lovely cottage, very clean, lovely decor and furniture. A little small would be cramped with 5 people staying there. Location is ok but very near a very fast main road , that said the noise wasnt too bad. The Ship pub is very close good food nice people good atmosphere. But not much else around there to do, having a car is a must !. All that said we had a lovely relaxing weekend.
