About this property

Granary Loft is a unique, oak-clad studio apartment on the first floor of a superb barn conversion amongst open countryside in Croxton Kerrial on the border of Leicestershire and Lincolnshire. With a traditional pantile roof, this Grade II listed apartment is the perfect, rural romantic retreat in the beautiful Vale of Belvoir, with plenty of walking opportunities and history to be found within easy reach. Tastefully renovated to a high standard, this apartment boasts panoramic views across the surrounding farmland, providing a peaceful and tranquil setting for a hideaway holiday. The spacious open-plan living area boasts a sumptuous super-king-size bed and a welcoming sitting area where you can unwind in front of the TV. Later, head into the fully-equipped kitchen to rustle up a romantic meal that you and your partner can enjoy around the intimate dining table. On sunny days head outside to dine alfresco on the garden furniture or fire up the barbecue before heading back inside to wash off the day’s adventures in the shower room. There are numerous walking and hiking routes from the doorstep and cyclists will be in their element thanks to undulating areas around Belvoir Castle and more level areas to the south down to Rutland Water; off-road mountain biking is also well catered for, as the property lies on the Viking Way. The nearby National Trust property of Belton House is well worth a visit, plus be sure to take a trip to the grand Belvoir Castle and its delightful gardens. Golf enthusiasts will appreciate the nearby golf courses where they can practise their swing and enjoy an afternoon of golf. Twelve miles away lies the historic, attractive town of Stamford with its golden sandstone buildings and the stately home of Burghley House. Those looking to experience the area’s wildlife can enjoy a trip to Rutland Water Nature Reserve for the chance to spot local birds, try your hand at fishing or bask in the serenity by boating on the lake. Make unforgettable memories at Granary Loft!

Croxton Kerrial is a historic village on the edge of the Vale of Belvoir, surrounded by the lush green landscapes of Lincolnshire, Leicestershire, and Nottinghamshire, and making for a fantastic setting for any rural retreat. There are Camra-award winning pubs and inns throughout the area, as well as beautiful old schools and churches, serene bike paths, and traditional pubs in nearly every town and village. We are conveniently located close to both Harlaxton Manor and Belvoir Castle, both of which feature a variety of unique shops and galleries created by local artists. Within half an hour's drive of Croxton Kerrial, you can reach any of five historic market towns, as well as Rutland Water, the largest man-made lake in the United Kingdom, ideal for bird watching, water sports, and angling. Historic cities like Nottingham and Lincoln are only a short drive from here, and the nearest access to the A1 is less than 5 miles away.

Good base with plenty going on nearby, gorgeous sunrise through the loft window and friendly owners, who were extremely helpful if needed. Would highly recommend and my dog and I will definitely be returning to one of the nicest places we have ever been to.

Thank you for the milk and flowers left for us. The loft was a brilliant base for us to explore the area. We experienced some lovely sunrises and sunsets from the roof window and enjoyed the views over the countryside. Our accommodation was so comfortable and cosy, with the highlight of the underfloor heating in the large bathroom. Everything we needed was provided to make our stay excellent, especially the super king bed. Thank you so much for our much needed break and we will certainly love to visit again if we are in the area.

Loved it so much we have just booked for two weeks in December. Tommy, our springer spaniel, loved the paddock and sitting on top of the steps surveying the world. Helen and Peter were the perfect hosts where nothing was to much trouble. Thank you so much, see you in December. Kay & Tony xx
