While The Cotswolds are famous for their pretty villages, Lincolnshire villages are surprisingly similar due to their use of the same local limestone. Just across the border from Lincolnshire is Rutland, the smallest country in England, with its pretty market town of Oakham it makes a wonderful place to spend a day while in the area.
