Guests say

The Tack Room is a charming and cosy cottage set in tranquil countryside, ideal for those seeking peace, beautiful walks, and a relaxing break. Guests consistently praise the serene location, comfortable furnishings, and the added luxury of a hot tub. The hosts are described as friendly and helpful, and the cottage is well-equipped for a restful stay. While a few guests noted minor issues with cleanliness, maintenance, and amenities, the overall experience is overwhelmingly positive, making it a delightful retreat for couples, families, and dog lovers alike.

Most guests found the cottage clean and comfortable, but several mentioned issues such as cobwebs, wasps, and a need for a deeper clean in some areas. A few reviews noted unpleasant smells and maintenance of utensils, suggesting room for improvement.

The location is widely praised for its peace, beautiful views, and access to countryside walks. Guests appreciate the rural setting and proximity to local towns, with only minor comments about the distance to amenities.

The cottage is described as cosy, comfortable, and well-furnished, with special mention of the beds and relaxing atmosphere. Some guests noted issues with pillows and towels, but overall comfort remains a strong point.

Facilities such as the hot tub and well-equipped kitchen are appreciated, but some guests reported maintenance issues (e.g., broken shower holder, old towels, lack of kitchen supplies, and occasional noise from nearby fans). Most found the amenities sufficient for a pleasant stay.

Guests appreciated thoughtful touches like a welcome basket and helpful hosts. However, it should be noted that such gifts are not guaranteed for every stay. Some guests would have liked more supplies (toilet rolls, tea towels), but overall felt well looked after.

Not a FAN! What looked idyllic when booking, turned out to be nothing like it. A wonderful setting it seemed, based at an old stables, with Jacuzzi and located in a small wooded area, should have been amazing. However! No one mentioned the huge greenhouses close by with experimental crops in, that needed to be kept cool apparently, with the help of huge industrial fans going all night and day! Took 3 days of complaining, and being accused of being over sensitive to sound, told nothing we can do, nobody else has complained! for them to reduce the noise to something even close to bearable, "reluctantly" moving some crops to another part of the greenhouse so using less fans. When we finally had them off for less than 2 days out of 7, it was blissful. Measured the fans at 90db when close to them, 20m from the accommodation, 29db when off. Was a constant hum all week. When they kicked in as temperatures rose, we had to go inside for some peace. Ruined what could have been amazing. The rest of the place was ok, not as clean as could be, washing machine old, no new towels offered despite being there a week. Jacuzzi old and only partially working. Tom was nice, his wife was very "forthright" shall we say and had no interest in our complaint. Wouldn't go back.
