Surroundings are nice. The hot tubs very new so are lovely.Staff helpful when needed.Negatives were that the beds are far too uncomfortable. Springs sticking out all over, my husband had to sleep on the sofa. The shower fell off the wall in the kids bathroom as did the towel rail. Our front door wouldn't lock and had to be replaced. The cabin was cold despite having the heating on all the time and the electric fire was so noisy we couldn't have it turned on. Overall disappointed considering the cost.

As much as we enjoyed the location, I would be surprised if we would return. Upon arrival we were told that the hot tub would be a little cold so might be a while before we could use it. At 6pm it was 31deg, by 11pm it was 36deg. Not comfortable to use at that temp so no use of the hot tub for 1 night out of the 3. When I mentioned this to the office the following morning I was asked whether I had mentioned this at the time. I replied no, as I didn't think there was anything they could do. Only to be told that they would have removed some water and filled up with hot. Now, I am no expert, but I know hot tubs increase about 1 degree per hour once its above 30 degrees. Now simple mathematics should tell the person who's job it is to fill them up that it would not be warm enough by such a time, so why not fill up with hot water in the first place. Also when I mentioned to the office that we regularly visit 2 other sites with hot tubs and are always able to use the hot tub on arrival, I was told that they could not guarantee the hot tub will be at temp on the first night. When I said I don't pay over 350 for 3 nights for the enjoyment of the lodge, I pay it to use a hot tub, the look of surprise was astonishing and they even noted this down on the PC.Lastly, the lodge itself was very cold. The thermostat only worked at 23 deg for 2 hours and then 10 hours at 18 deg. When it's close to freezing outside this was not pleasant and I appreciate, even in these times of spiraling energy costs, the amount paid, I expect to be kept warm if I choose too.
