Follow trails to the River Nene or explore the peaceful countryside. A friendly village pub and local shop are just a short stroll away. There are great street markets in Oundle (Thursdays) and Stamford (Fridays). Rushden Lakes, a 30-minute drive away, offers retail, entertainment and eating options all set around the Nene Wetlands conservation area. A 20-minute drive to Burghley House and Park has a children’s play area, Rutland Water has good leisure activities, from a waterside stroll, learning to sail, windsurf, or hire a bike and cycle around the reservoir, stopping for a picnic. Enjoy a day at the beach.
Snettisham is a hive of activity for nature lovers and walkers, backed onto a coastal park with reed beds and marshland. Also adjacent to the rspb Snettisham Reserve, which hosts an incredible display of knot and pink-footed geese when the tides are right.

Had a great 4 night stay. Spacious, clean , comfortable and inviting. Cottage had everything we needed. Down stairs wet room/ bathroom was a real bonus.Three generations in our group. Ageing from 1yr old to 65. Plus a dog.Lots of places to visit and cater for long days out.Swimming pool was easy to book private time slots although a little chilly for the younger ones but still had plenty of fun just didn’t stay in too long. Outside space and watching the horses another bonus.Well worth a visit

A lovely clean and spacious place that was comfortable for 6 adults, 4 young children and a dog. When we arrived there was space to park all three cars right in front which was ideal. Stair gates and a high chair were all ready for us so the kids could go and play happily and the bedrooms all made up exactly as needed. The kitchen was big enough to cook for all of us and had most things we needed. We also managed to get a takeaway delivered one evening without any hassle.The pool house was a big hit with all of us so we came back for a second session. The pool itself was a deceptively good size, and the water was an ideal temperature. The sofas and TV in there (with sky sports available) was great for those who didn't want to get wet but still be involved. Had a few minutes guessing where the light switch was for the pool house on the second time but we managed to find it after a short hunt.We spent a day at Sacrewell Farm which is a great attraction for kids and only 10 mins drive away. I expect we'll be booking to come back again next year.
