Guests say

Jessamine Cottage is praised for its cleanliness, cosy atmosphere, and peaceful location, ideal for exploring the Wye Valley and Forest of Dean. Guests appreciate the thoughtful touches like biscuits and dog treats, though some mention issues with parking and suggest updates to certain amenities.

The cottage is consistently described as clean and tidy, with several guests highlighting its spotless condition. This suggests a high standard of cleanliness maintained at the property.

The location is appreciated for its quietness and proximity to local attractions, making it a good base for exploring the surrounding countryside. However, the lack of a pub or shop in the immediate vicinity and parking difficulties slightly affect the score.

Guests find the cottage comfortable and cosy, with a particularly comfy bed and living room. Some concerns about narrow beds and the need for better pillows slightly lower the comfort score.

While the cottage is well-equipped with modern appliances and reliable WiFi, recurring comments about the need for updates to the cooker, shower, and heating system indicate room for improvement in facilities and maintenance.

Guests often mention and appreciate the thoughtful gestures such as milk, biscuits, and dog treats. However, as these gifts are not consistently referenced in all reviews, it cannot be guaranteed that such amenities will always be provided.

The cottage was lovely and cosy and it’s was so peaceful and quite. Plenty of nice places to walk and explore nearby. The dog bed was a great help as we forgot ours. Parking was never an issue, we managed to park not far away.

Kitchen, cooker top cracked (mentioned in 2023 and nothing yet done) more kitchen utensils would be useful. Only one tea towel provided for week. Bathroom radiator loose from wall as is window blind. Shower on power two goes from warm to very hot in seconds. No pub, post office or shop, all closed. Very run down area, not really suitable for holiday lettings.

Beautifully clean and well equipped, perfect size for two and a dog, with open fields a minutes walk away. A shame the pub is closed but there are several good pubs a short drive away. Really enjoyed out short break and would definitely return.
