If you are looking for a luxurious break then this is the place to be, set next door to the owners land, in their wonderful orchard. The open plan living accommodation is on the first floor and has outstanding views of the rolling countryside, a fabulous glass balcony leading from the living room, perfect relax and listen to the wildlife whilst have a drink of something fizzy! The kitchen caters for your every need and even offers a coffee machine.
On the ground floor there is a master bedroom with kingsize bed and en-suite shower room, there is a further bedroom with superking zip and link bed, this bedroom has its own private bathroom next door. There is also a large utility room entrance on the ground floor with washing machine and Belfast sink. The enclosed garden is the Orchard and garden furniture is provided. This is a lovely, peaceful private place to relax, eat and watch the sun set.
Situated just outside Clyro just 2 miles from the town of Hay-on-Wye famous for its literary festivals and known as the "Book Capital of the World", with many craft shops and galleries.
It’s a walker’s haven at Barn Owls Rest with the Black Mountains, Brecon Beacons, Offa’s Dyke, Hay Bluff and Begwins, the Herefordshire Trail and Marches Way nearby, as well as walks from the doorstep. There are many places of historical interest such as castles, National Trust properties, Dore Abbey, Hereford Cathedral and Mappa Mundi Centre. Golf, fishing, riding and canoeing can all be found locally.

We had a wonderful holiday at Barn Owls Rest, it was peaceful but with lots to do in the area, we even tried blacksmithing at Oldfield Forge. The owners were so lovely and welcoming, and on hand if we needed anything, the balcony and chairs were perfect for morning coffee and evening drinks or just watching the mist over the hills. Anne and Kevin left us so many welcome goodies and a home made cake which was delicious. The bedding was nice, the showers were really good and the bath robes were a lovely extra thought. So much care and attention to detail has gone into the house and its contents. We definitely hope to go back very soon.

We had an awesome family holiday here. The cake and hamper that was provided was a lovely touch. The accommodation was spacious and very well appointed for our needs. We loved looking out onto the spectacular hilly views. Our hosts also kindly took our preschooler to visit the local ponies, which went above and beyond our expectations. We would definitely recognise staying here, you will not be disappointed!

A well equipped cottage in a lovely location. Owners were very friendly and welcoming, and the welcome hamper was the best we have ever had on our many cottage rentals.
