Carrigbaun offers a spacious, well-equipped cottage experience in a tranquil setting with stunning views and beautiful gardens. Guests appreciate the peaceful location, proximity to Keswick, and ample amenities for families and groups. While the property is generally clean and inviting, some minor maintenance issues and communication challenges have been noted. The cottage is particularly well-suited for those seeking relaxation and access to the Lake District’s natural beauty.
Multiple guests mention the property is clean and well-maintained, with only occasional comments about musty smells in one room and lumpy pillows. Overall, cleanliness is a strong point.
The location is highly praised for its tranquillity, beautiful views, and easy access to local attractions and walks. Guests consistently highlight the peaceful setting and proximity to Keswick.
The cottage is described as spacious and comfortable, but some guests found mattresses too firm or uncomfortable, and noted the balcony may not be safe for toddlers. Living areas are otherwise relaxing and well-furnished.
Facilities are generally excellent, with a well-equipped kitchen, lovely gardens, and ample space. Some minor issues include limited toiletries, erratic shower temperature, and a lack of certain kitchen basics.
Guests appreciated the cupboard of toys (though some pieces were missing) and the overall welcoming feel. However, there were no welcome gifts or complimentary items such as tea, coffee, or milk. Please note that gifts or extras are not guaranteed.

Wonderful view from the living room window over the gardens. All credit to whoever looks after the lawns and planting. We were here during the bank holiday heat wave, the rhododendron bushes were in full bloom. No need to traipse around in crowds and traffic when you could sit out on the balcony and enjoy the views.

It was really clean and a lovely place to stay. The only problem was we weren't told it the property number which would have helped for ordering food and finding the key quicker.

Ideal location, lovely house just needs a few isues put right. Would definitely return if the isues raised are fixed Property was clean & in a good location with a lovely view. I would definitely return if the isues we found were put right. The beds were clean however many of the beds need mattres toppers, i found the single bed very uncomfortable you could feel the springs through the mattres. Also the wooden balcony needs attention unsafe for toddlers.
