Fantastic base, warm and comforting after a chilly day out walking.Everything we needed in the cottage. We were able to go for plenty of walks from the cottage and in a great place to get to many other beautiful areas in the Lake's without much driving. We saw the first lot of snow to cover Blencathra which made our view from the cottage more magical.

Keswick a couple of miles away the market is on a Thursday and Saturday.. Whinlatter forest is a good day out also Force crag mine watch out for the sheep on the paths if you have dogs .. Grasmere is about a 20 min drive also Rydal is good for a walk with the caves a must .. we went when there was all the floods but it didn’t spoil our break

Cottage was cold when we arrived which is very uninviting. Floor throughout was dirty. Grass in garden overgrown. Bed was hard meaning we only stayed 2 nights out of 3. Could be a lovely cottage but it appeared neglected especially the housekeeping. Deep clean required.
