There are many low level routes to be taken from the doorstep and for those who prefer something more strenuous, Scafell, Great Gable and their surrounding peaks are all possible day trips from the cottage. There is a general store in the nearby village of Rosthwaite and two public bars within walking distance. Stunning walks from the door - lovely places for a drink afterwards, whether it be at the YHA or pub. Borrowdale is such a wonderful place to base a Lake District holiday. It’s a cosy clean comfortable and well equipped cottage- would definitely book again.
