It’s a fabulous accommodation option if you want to spend happy days biking the trails at Whinlatter Forest (5 miles) before heading into the heart of Keswick (500 metres) to check out its lively food scene and relaxing pubs. Alternatively, make a beeline to Derwentwater to hire a rowing boat for the afternoon, or head to Skiddaw (5 miles) to go for a challenging hike.

Step inside this romantic bolthole for two and you’ll discover a welcoming open-plan living area. Bathed in natural light, the ambience is smart yet rustic. Head to the quaint kitchen area, which has a wonderful contemporary cottage-style vibe, and rustle up a romantic meal for two.
