Hastings is a lovely property in a great location. We found being able to walk into town a real plus. Although I would recommend the property there is currently extensive building work happening next door that significantly impacted our holiday. There was constant loud noise from 9am - 5pm. We also often couldn’t access the private parking space due to work vehicles blocking the space. I understand that external noise cannot be controlled by the host but I do think guests should be informed so they can decide if it would impact their holiday or not.

Arrived to find workmen and scaffolding at the property next door. Not an issue as such as we were out most of the day, but could have impacted if we had needed to spend time in the house through the day. A prior warning would have been nice!Excellent cottage. Very clean, spacious and well equipped. Had plenty of toilet rolls, bin bags, cleaning products, dishwasher tabs, cling film, foil, salt, pepper etc. loads of crockery, glasses, pans, utensils and cutlery. Had an issue with the back door not shutting properly. A lovely man came out Saturday afternoon and remedied the problem (hinge had dropped). I did notice a squeaking sound in the living room and eventually narrowed it down the the gas/electric meter under TV cabinet. Needs oiling/ replacing as I couldn’t unhear it! Agree with other reviews that the sofas are not the comfiest but would definitely return in the future. Ideal location, tastefully decorated, parking space and a yard for the pooch. Would highly recommend.

This would have been straight fives across the board if the sofas had of been a bit more comfortable, it isn't a deal breaker and probably nit picking as I would definitely book this place again
