Take a seat in the pair of armchairs and indulge in the escapism of the television and a glass of wine before heading to bed before an exciting day ahead. You can find the bedroom on a plinth in a private alcove of the room, offering you privacy and the perfect place to rest. In the mornings, sit at the dining table with a hot cup of coffee before heading outside to join the rest of the courtyard; just outside your front door is a shared courtyard with furniture, offering the perfect place to round up the troops before heading out to explore the stunning scenery of the Lake District. Braithwaite itself is full of traditional appeal, with the Coledale Beck flowing through the village, lined by whitewashed Lakeland cottages, two village shops, and welcoming real ale inns rich in character. Not far away, the beautiful Newlands Valley stretches between Braithwaite and Buttermere, giving you the choice between gentle countryside strolls and more demanding routes leading towards Skiddaw. Bassenthwaite Lake is another highlight, inviting you to discover Mirehouse, a grand house and gardens on its shores, complete with an open-air theatre and opportunities to enjoy the water. For a livelier atmosphere, make your way to Keswick, where Derwentwater, the Lake District Wildlife Park, and Dodd Wood provide a mix of lakeside views, walking trails, and wildlife encounters. Between the magnificent northern lakes of Derwentwater and Bassenthwaite, lies the village of Braithwaite. Still retaining much of its traditional appeal, the Coledale Beck runs through the village with whitewashed Lakeland cottages, two village shops and two real ale Inns each brimming with character! Between Braithwaite and Buttermere is the beautiful Newlands Valley, while picturesque Bassenthwaite Lake is well worth a visit. From a gentle countryside ramble to a challenging hike up Skiddaw, there really is something for everyone. Visit Mirehouse, a grand house and gardens on the shores of the lake with an open-air theatre, or take a trip around the lake. Lake District Wildlife Park, Dodd Wood, Derwentwater, and Keswick with its wide range of attractions, are also within easy reach.
