Guests say

Ellarbeck Cottage is praised for its comfortable setting and friendly host, offering a peaceful rural retreat ideal for walkers and sightseers. Guests enjoy the farm views and local wildlife, with a central location for exploring the Lake District. Some noted areas for improvement in cleanliness, but the overall experience is positive, with many planning to return.

Most guests found the cottage comfortable, but one mentioned it could have been cleaner, with specific reference to bathroom carpet odor and towel quality. This suggests room for improvement.

The location is highly appreciated for its tranquility and proximity to the Lake District, making it ideal for sightseeing and walking, despite being a distance from local amenities.

Guests consistently describe the cottage as comfortable and relaxing, with a homely feel and a garden area suitable for dogs, contributing to a pleasant stay.

While the reviews mention a well-equipped kitchen and nice hot shower, there is not enough information on the overall state of facilities and maintenance to provide a score.

The host is noted for being welcoming and helpful, but there are no mentions of gifts or special touches that would indicate thoughtfulness, so a score cannot be given.

Lovely comfy cottage with friendly owners. The cottage is in a very rural location so is a distance to local amenities but as long as you have a car and are prepared it is fine. We enjoyed watching the farm animals and vehicles from the windows. Would stay here again.

A lovely cottage in a lovely area, we would recommend this cottage for people who are keen walkers. Local village is charming but lacks a few amenities however the village of Haskel Newmarket was wonderful. Perfect area for visiting Windermere, Coniston water, Keswick and other places of interest

All adults (3) and 2 dogs had a very comfortable and relaxing break. The garden area is ideal for dogs to have a runabout and Ellarbeck was handy for sightseeing in the area. We would definitely recommend to anyone. Thanks go to Helen’s who welcomed us and asked if we were comfortable.
