Explore the bustling town centre, where you will find a wide variety of restaurants and bars, along with the popular Brewery Arts Centre, where you can sit back and sample local ales in the beer garden, before enjoying the cinema or watching a live music concert.

The history buffs in your party can delve into history at the attractions of Kendal Castle, the Quaker Tapestry Museum, and the Kendal Museum.Kendal Yards is ideally located for accessing a wealth of beautiful walks right on your doorstep, as well as Scouts Scar which is just a short drive away and offers incomparable views over the town as out to the Lake District Fells. A ancient market town with an excellent reputation for shopping, Kendal nestles on the banks of the River Kent and is renowned as the Southern Gateway to the Lakes. Its old cobblestone lanes and byways radiate off the picturesque main street, and the stone ruins of 12th century Kendal Castle lie situated on a hill with views over the town. Visit The Abbot Hall Art Gallery, its regular collection holding portraits by Kendal native George Romney and works by Turner and Ruskin, plus other exhibitions through its links with the Tate. Both Sizergh Castle and Levens Hall with its renowned Topiary Garden are nearby, as are limestone escarpments for easy trekking, affording exciting views of the Lakeland Mountains, the Howgills and Morecambe Bay. Kendal itself is ideally positioned for exploring South Lakeland, the Yorkshire Dales and beyond.
