Guests say

Fisherbeck Farm Cottage is a spacious and well-equipped property with high-end fixtures, offering a comfortable stay in a superb location near Ambleside. Guests appreciate the modern design, ample outdoor space, and proximity to local attractions. Some concerns about garden security for pets and minor maintenance issues are noted, but overall experiences are very positive.

The property generally receives positive remarks for cleanliness, with guests finding it clean upon arrival. However, there are a few instances where guests noted that certain areas, such as the kitchen cupboards and fridge, could have been cleaner. These isolated comments suggest room for improvement.

The location is highly praised for its convenience, being within walking distance to Ambleside and nearby attractions. The property's setting is described as lovely, with easy access to both the town and scenic walks, contributing to a very high satisfaction rate.

Guests find the property very comfortable, with special mentions of the cosy atmosphere and comfortable beds. Some guests noted issues with sofas and suggested additional furniture for convenience, but overall, the comfort level is rated highly.

The cottage is well-equipped with modern facilities and a high standard of fittings. However, guests have reported maintenance issues such as non-working lights, a slow-draining shower, and a lack of secure storage for bicycles. These issues indicate that while facilities are generally good, there is a need for better maintenance.

While guests have mentioned receiving a bottle of Prosecco as a kind gesture, there is not enough consistent information about thoughtfulness, such as welcome packs or gifts, to provide a score. It should be noted that such gestures are appreciated but not guaranteed.

On the lakeside at Waterhead, the parkland offers lovely views down the lake and a short stretch of beach, whilst a walk in the other direction, following Stock Ghyll through woodland, will bring you to the entrancing waterfall of Stock Ghyll Force. Great for walking out straight from the door. We are already planning our next visit.

The cottage was immaculate and just a short walk into Ambleside. The owners had left a bottle of champagne for us which was a lovely touch! We had a small issue with the heating, in that it was fine downstairs but upstairs was quite cold in some of the rooms. We called the number left on the information and the owner was very quick to respond and explained how to sort it! We mainly used the kitchen area as it had a TV in there and our little boys could play in the open space and meant we could interact with each other when cooking. However the lounge was lovely, as we all of the bedrooms / bathrooms. Utility was a good extra! The garden isn’t secure so not able to let dogs or children run out in it but there was a lot of space with tables/ chairs and a bbq if the weather was right. Plenty of dishwasher tablets and bin bags were left for us but there was no cleaning spray / washing up liquid so you’d need to bring this with you (I know this varies in self catering). Overall, a fantastic stay and beautiful cottage and we would definitely stay here again / tell others about it! Thank you!

Even after a week we hadn’t got used to them. Shower screen in bathroom meant it was very difficult to get in or out of the bath as it doesn’t fold and it was awkward to reach the bath taps. Lovely house otherwise and well equipped.
