The town boasts narrow lanes and historical buildings and is filled with a collection of amenities. The surrounding area is rolling countryside, making this a great base for touring. Attractions within the area include Lakeland Wildlife Oasis, Leighton Hall, Sizergh Castle, the Great Lakes Aquarium, Windermere and Grizedale Forest.
