The cottage is less than 3 miles to Hawkshead and 1 mile to Lake Windermere and the ferry, where you can enjoy stunning walks, mountain bike trails and enjoy a ferry cruise. 

Letterbox Cottage is furnished with a cosy country charm, and includes a traditional wood burner, wooden beams, and impressive views across the surrounding countryside.  The cosy living room with wood burner is upstairs but can be accessed at ground level.  Use of the wood burner is optional as the central heating is the main source of heat.  There is a popular, award-winning pub just a 2-minute walk away, serving lunch and evening meals as well as a variety of local ales.  Alternatively, walk through the characterful village and across the picturesque fields to a traditional pub at Near Sawrey, once owned by Beatrix Potter herself.  In addition, just 2¾ miles away at Hawkshead there is a variety of popular pubs, eateries, and a good selection of shops.  Shop . . .
