Guests say

Holy Waters is a charming cottage in the quaint village of Staveley, offering a peaceful riverside setting and convenient amenities nearby. Guests appreciate the property's character, comfortable furnishings, and the wildlife-friendly garden. The location is ideal for exploring the Lake District, with good transport links and local shops and pubs within easy reach.

Reviews on cleanliness are mixed, with some guests finding the cottage warm and cosy, while others noted it needed a thorough cleaning and had issues with outdated or curdled complimentary items. The property appears to be well-maintained in general, but some guests experienced it as not particularly clean and smelling damp.

The location is highly praised for its convenience, proximity to local amenities, and the peaceful riverside setting. It is well-situated for exploring the Lake District, with good parking and transport links, making it an ideal base for visitors.

Guests find the cottage comfortable, with good quality linens and a cosy atmosphere. However, some noted that it may not be suitable for those with mobility issues, and there were suggestions for improvements like a longer stair rail and better accessibility in the bathroom.

Facilities are generally well-received, with a well-equipped kitchen and comfortable bedrooms. However, there are comments about the property being a bit tired, with a need for updates in the bathroom and kitchen, and issues with the Wi-Fi and TV. Maintenance seems to be an area for improvement.

There is insufficient information to assess thoughtfulness as there are no specific mentions of gifts or special touches provided by the hosts. Therefore, while guests may have enjoyed certain aspects of their stay, there is no evidence to suggest the presence of thoughtful gestures such as welcome packs.

Had a lovely stay in Holy Waters for a few days in the Lake District. Staveley is a lovely, quiet place with a nice vibe to it; and I felt very much at home. The apartment itself was very nice and clutter-free, and was an overall great stay with a lovely backdrop of the peaceful river running right next to it. Would recommend to anyone visiting the Lake District.

A great location on the river, good parking which is a MUST for Staveley. Wif's cafe for breakfast and the EAgle and Child for a few pints..
