Ambleside Haven is a well-regarded apartment in Ambleside, praised for its cleanliness, modern amenities, and prime location close to local attractions. Guests appreciate the comfortable furnishings and the convenience of private parking. While some minor maintenance issues and a lack of welcome gifts are noted, the overall sentiment is positive, with many guests expressing a desire to return.
Most guests found the apartment to be clean and well-maintained, though there were isolated complaints about cleanliness issues such as hairs and dirt around fittings. The majority of reviews, however, reflect a high standard of cleanliness.
The location is highly praised for being central, quiet, and convenient, with easy access to shops, restaurants, and walking paths. Its proximity to Rothay Park and the town centre makes it an ideal base for exploring.
Guests generally find the apartment comfortable, especially noting the modern fittings and cosy atmosphere. However, some guests mentioned issues with hard mattresses and dampness, slightly affecting the comfort score.
The apartment is well-equipped with modern facilities, but there are several mentions of maintenance issues such as key problems, loose dining chair legs, and mould in bathrooms. These concerns indicate room for improvement in maintenance.
While guests appreciate the apartment's amenities and location, there is no consistent mention of welcome gifts or additional thoughtful touches. As such, it is not possible to provide a score for thoughtfulness, and guests should not expect welcome gifts.

The property is a smart and stylish ground floor apartment, with two bedrooms set over one floor. Cosy and comfortable, Ambleside Haven is the perfect place to relax and unwind.
Set in lovely gardens, with a delightful patio area, a great spot to enjoy a morning coffee or an aperitif. Waterhead Pier at the north of Lake Windermere is close by and here you can catch a steamer to Bowness and Lakeside and more attractions.
For those who enjoy the great outdoors, an array of walks start at Ambleside, including walks along the shores of Rydal Water and Grasmere, whilost the hike up Loughrigg Fell is ever popular. For those who enjoy more of a challenge the high fells of the Fairfield Horseshoe can be tackled directly from your door.
Lying at the northern tip of Lake Windermere, England’s largest lake, Ambleside makes a superb base for touring the central Lakes, with Grasmere and the Langdale Valley just a short drive away. There is plenty to do here - cruises, boat trips and watersports on Lake Windermere itself and numerous shops, restaurants and pubs in the village to suit all tastes. On the lakeside at Waterhead, the parkland offers lovely views down the lake and a short stretch of beach, whilst a walk in the other direction, following Stock Ghyll through woodland, will bring you to the entrancing waterfall of Stock Ghyll Force. Great facilities and location.
Darrin
Very comfortable accommodation with the added bonus of parking. Superbly located only a few mins walk from the centre of Ambleside. The only point I would make would be that a wardrobe would be better in the smaller bedroom in place of the chest of drawers as there was not enough hanging space for four adults. We would book again!

The property has everything you could need..very well equipped kitchen and comfortable sitting room . We would hope to be able to make use of the patio when we return in warmer weather. The only comment on the maintenance side is that mould needs treating in the corners and bathrooms.
