With an enviable position overlooking Ambleside with magnificent views over Loughrigg and the Fairfield Horseshoe, it is ideal either for a peaceful and relaxing break or as a fantastic starting point for an incredible holiday either walking or accessing all the local attractions (for both the young and the young at heart).
The living room has a sunny aspect with large picture window where the ever changing scenery can be watched from the comfort of the sofa, whatever the weather. The kitchen offers everything you require should you want to cook and has a picture mirror reflecting the outside view into the kitchen area. A large oak dining table and matching cabinet complements the dining area which in turn leads to the patio doors and a glass fronted balcony, with seating, enabling you to be part of the landscape in comfort. Both bedrooms enjoy views of Wansfell and have wardrobes and bedside cabinets.
Halfway up a hill, it is still within easy walking distance of all the local shops, bars and restaurants that bustling Ambleside has to offer. The Waterhead Pier to catch a boat on Lake Windermere is less than a mile away, with local parks providing a place to gather or rest or as a starting point for countless walks close by to the lakeside. Not often do you find a property with such quality facilities, a large communal garden with a designated BBQ area, spectacular scenery and off road parking so close to the centre of the village.

We absolutely loved our stay at Squirrels Nest, the apartment is in a great location, yes if walking it is up a steep hill, but even as a COPD sufferer I managed it, just take your time.Squirrels Nest is a beautiful apartment, very clean, beautiful decor and furnishings and very well equipped, the kitchen is amazing 🤩 and even had an air fryer. Honestly you couldn't have asked for more. And the view from the apartment was simply stunning.It was a bit chilly weather wise when we arrived but the we put the electric heaters on and the apartment soon warmed up, we were very cozy here.Ambleside has so much to offer, shops, restaurants, pubs, picturesque walks, even a waterfall, it's also a great base to explore the lakes.Would we stay here again? lovely big clean apartment with amazing views from the full size windows and balcony. Very comfortable with all the facilities you could need. lovely modern kitchen and bathroom. We were there for New Year and it was particularly cold so it did take a while for the electric radiators to heat the space. it would be lovely in the Summer when you could sit on the balcony and enjoy the views. Just to be aware it is quite a steep climb up a hill from the main road to get to the apartment and it is then up 3 flights of stairs if you have any mobility issues. we were not given the code for the outside door before we arrived, only the code for the apartment lock box, so if we had not arrived at the same time as other guests we would not have been able to get in.
