Lama Lodge is a cosy, well-equipped cottage in a peaceful setting, ideal for exploring Hawkshead and the surrounding Lake District. Guests appreciated its privacy, comfort, and practical amenities, with many highlighting the convenient location for village access. While most found the property clean and comfortable, a few noted minor maintenance issues and occasional lapses in cleanliness. The lack of a secure outdoor area for dogs and some missing items, such as a BBQ and welcome pack, were mentioned. Overall, guests enjoyed their stay and would return, valuing the lodge as a relaxing base for their holiday.
Most guests found the property clean and tidy, with positive remarks about the bathroom and general upkeep. However, there were isolated reports of missed cleaning (e.g., food left in the microwave), which slightly impacted the overall impression.
The location was praised for its proximity to Hawkshead and tranquil setting. Some guests noted the busy road and lack of footpaths as drawbacks, but overall, the setting was considered convenient and central for exploring the area.
Guests consistently described the lodge as cosy, warm, and comfortable, with particular mention of the bed and shower. The peaceful atmosphere and privacy contributed positively to the comfort of the stay.
The cottage was generally well-equipped, with good kitchen facilities and WiFi. Minor issues included a loose toilet seat, tricky doors, and the absence of a BBQ and freezer. These did not significantly detract from the overall experience.
Some guests expected a welcome pack as shown in photos, but it was not provided. While check-in instructions and communication were good, gifts or extras are not guaranteed and may not always be available.

Lama lodge is an ideal getaway venue providing you are capable of walking a short distance into Hawkshead village ! Weather permitting, the facilities are ideal for relaxing, having a drink, bbq or sitting round the fire pit.The lodge is well appointed, a versatile microwave/grill/oven, a 2 plate induction hob, a spacious fridge, good WiFi. The only downside for us was no freezer facility, but that was only a minor hiccup, all in all, a good place for a Lakeland’s break !
