A less than 5-minute steep walk down Peggy Hill brings you to the centre of Ambleside where there are many cafes, restaurants, shops and two cinemas. Wansfell and Red Screes are nearby, and walks can be enjoyed from the door. Many bus routes radiate from Ambleside including frequent services to Windermere, Kendal and Lancaster, the 516 to Elterwater and Dungeon Ghyll, the 555 to Grasmere and Keswick, and the Coniston Rambler to Hawkshead and Coniston.

Lovely property with everything you would need for your stay. Modern bathroom, hot shower & clean throughout. Perfect quiet location, just a 2 minute walk into the centre of Ambleside.

All was good, comfy bed etc. Just needed a new kettle as lid didn't work, and a new bin (the bin inner was missing) maybe a measuring jug/custard/gravy jug. Otherwise all good.

Overall happy with my stay at Eskdale, neat& tidy,good facilities and quiet locatiin just above the village .Whilst all minor ,several paint knocks,scuffs peeling bathroom ceiling which do negaticely impact on how the cottage presents .I would though happily book Eskdale again.
