Situated on a small working farm this old railway workers accommodation has been thoughtfully renovated and extended in 2022 to retain much of its character along with the modern extension. With its own sunny, secluded garden, the detached single storey cottage is situated high up in the unspoilt Eden Valley, on the boundary of the new Westmorland Dales, the extension of the Yorkshire Dales National Park.
Here, you have has easy access to the surrounding countryside, the Lake District and the Yorkshire Dales. The bustling market town of Kirkby Stephen is 2½ miles - the Coast to Coast walk passes through here and the town also has a station on the Settle-Carlisle railway. Appleby, with its castle, swimming pool and famous annual horse fair, is 9 miles. Shop, pub and restaurant 2½ miles.

Lovely holiday in quiet location. Lots of wildlife . Many birds including woodpecker and nuthatch. Red squirrel visited most days. You are able to watch from your own chair. Cottage had everything we needed and owners very friendly and helpful. Very comfortable bed and large shower. Kirkby Stephen only 2 miles away ,plenty of shops and places to eat, very interesting place with beautiful church and lovely walks . Smardale has a lovely walk through the nature reserve to an impressive via railway viaduct. Settle to Carlisle railway is close by and well worth the trip.

Delightful accommodation, all the wild life makes it a stunning place to stay for a few days. The family are very helpful and very friendly. Overall excellent accommodation and surrounding area.We loved it so much we have booked again.
