Little How is a well-regarded cottage praised for its cleanliness, comfort, and picturesque location in Ambleside. Guests appreciate the cosy atmosphere, well-equipped kitchen, and the peaceful garden. While some minor maintenance issues and a lack of welcome gifts are noted, the overall experience is positive with many guests planning return visits.
The cottage generally receives high marks for cleanliness, with most guests finding it clean and well-maintained. However, a few guests noted cobwebs, a musty smell, and a stray dirty sock, slightly affecting the score.
The location is highly praised for its beauty and proximity to Grasmere, offering a tranquil setting with easy access to local attractions. The presence of wildlife in the garden adds to the charm.
Guests find the beds very comfortable and the cottage cosy, contributing to a restful stay. Some concerns about noise from adjoining properties and the coldness of certain rooms are mentioned.
Facilities are generally well-received, with a well-equipped kitchen and modern bathrooms. However, issues with water pressure, heating, and soundproofing, as well as the absence of instructions for some appliances, lead to a lower score.

The picturesque village of Grasmere, located in the heart of the Lake District National Park, is perhaps best known as the residence of William Wordsworth, who once referred to it as "the most beautiful spot that man has ever discovered." The Wilson family has been making gingerbread for over six decades at The Grasmere Gingerbread Shop. In addition, the village contains a number of shops, pubs, a 13th-century church, and Grasmere Lake. Every August, Grasmere Sports is held, where participants compete in a variety of sports, including Cumberland wrestling. The town of Ambleside and Lake Winderemere are only eight kilometres away, where you will find shops, pubs, and restaurants, as well as the Bridge House, which is one of the most photographed structures in the Lake District. Lake Windermere offers cruises, boat trips, and watersports, and the towns of Windermere and Keswick are within driving distance. Grasmere is an excellent location for a Lake District retreat.
