Close to the foot of Kirkstone Pass, Oaks Retreat offers almost instant access to the Lakeland fells and the owners have supplied a range of walking books and guides to help you plan your route.
Refurbished to a very good standard Oaks Retreat is a spacious and stylish apartment all on one level, offering excellent facilities for a self catering break. The thoughtful owners who live adjacent have provided a lovely bed and mattress dressed with quality duvet and linens to ensure a restful nights sleep and a shower room with power shower to sooth those aching limbs. The sumptuous leather sofa offers the chance to snuggle up and take in a film or catch up on the soaps whilst the covered patio area will enable you to holiday outdoors when our typical Lakeland weather will allow!

We spent just short of a week at Oaks Retreat and had a lovely stay. Very comfortable, clean and cosy, and in a great location a few minutes' walk from Ambleside town centre. The kitchen was very well-equipped and the living area was spacious. There was also a large hallway with a rack of coathooks - very handy for drying our jackets and walking boots on wet days! Highly recommended.

A lovely cottage, perfect for two. The location was excellent, only a short walk into the centre of Ambleside.Very comfortable with all necessary equipment.Compared to other cottages we have stayed in I must say that the TV facilities were the best we have encountered. Large TV with free view plus access to many streaming services. This is more important when using the cottage in the winter.
