Guests say

Kidsty Cottage is a well-received holiday rental in Penrith, praised for its comfort, ideal location for exploring the Lake District, and well-equipped nature. Guests appreciate the cosy wood burner, comfortable bed, and the convenience of local amenities. While some guests noted issues with Wi-Fi and maintenance, the overall sentiment is positive, with many expressing a desire to return.

Most guests found the cottage to be clean and tidy upon arrival, contributing to a pleasant stay. However, a few guests reported cleanliness issues, such as dirty kitchen appliances and a lack of thoroughness in certain areas. These instances seem to be exceptions rather than the norm.

The cottage's location is highly regarded for its proximity to local walks, pubs, and shops, as well as being a great base for exploring the Lake District. Some guests felt the area was a bit remote, requiring a car for travel, but overall the location was seen as a positive aspect.

Guests frequently complimented the comfort of the cottage, mentioning the cosy wood burner, comfortable bed, and sofas. A few guests suggested improvements such as additional seating lamps for ambiance and mentioned the firmness of the bed as a personal preference.

Facilities at Kidsty Cottage are generally well-received, with a fully stocked kitchen and good amenities. Criticisms include the small shower room, lack of Wi-Fi, and some appliances needing updates. The wood burner was a highlight, though some guests noted a lack of supplies for its use.

While some guests mentioned thoughtful touches like leaving milk for a brew upon arrival, others noted the absence of such gestures. As reviews are mixed and gifts are not consistently mentioned, it is not possible to accurately score this category. Guests should note that such thoughtful gestures are not guaranteed.

Couple little maintenance jobs would make the stay easier, the rear patio doors not really secure as multipoint lock not working as it should and handle feels it could fall apart at any time, the window in the kitchen, has no handle so couldn’t open window while cooking and the front gate needs new latch, didn’t spoil our holiday or stay but would of made the stay a bit easier

The cottage was warm and clean and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves! It was the perfect size for the 2 of us plus dog, lovely comfy bed with nice quality bed linen meant we slept amazingly. Shower was fab, kitchen was also very clean and had all equipment you might need. A few minor things missing (no coffee, blue bags, minimal kindling) but this in no way took away from our enjoyment of the holiday, we 100% would stay again.

its so lovely. The only issue we have had is the ongoing one with the lack of blue council bin bags being left by the binmen. We had to go to the council offices in Penrith to get bags. The lady at reception advised that the owner needs to contact them to ensure bags are left each week. We watched the bin men collect the rubbish and leave bags for every property except Kidsty. Apparently there was an issue some weeks back where rubbish was left out and not collected because it wasn't in an official blue bag. Hopefully things will be resolved when we come back again in March :)
