Please note: There is an unfenced stream in the grounds and the property has a natural water supply from a spring.. Spring Grove is ideally located at Watermillock, a stone’s throw from Ullswater’s shoreline in the Northern Lake District, privately accessed by its own drive and surrounded by 50 acres of woodland which covers a fell that overlooks Lake Ullswater. With fantastic walks, direct from Spring Grove, allowing you to leave your car behind or stay home to enjoy the garden space where wildlife is often seen, including roe deer, badger, fox, squirrels, buzzards, ravens and regular nesting ducks. Adjoining the discreet owners’ properties, you also have access to its own lake shore frontage just across the road, offering private fishing and the possibility of launching small craft such as a windsurfer, canoe or rubber dinghy. Windsurfing, rowing and motorboat hire, sailing, golf, pony trekking and steamer cruises are all available locally. The main shopping areas are in Penrith, 7 miles, and Pooley Bridge for local pubs and cafes is just 1½ miles away and with a restaurant within walking distance.

Lovely location, great apartment which was nicely appointed. However, the oven wasn't working and there was obviously a problem with a wasp nest recently as we swept up dozens of dead or dying wasps every morning and evening; predominantly from the living room and kitchen windowsills.Didn't completely detract from a great stay but definitely took the edge of it.

We had a great time at the cottage, accommodated 3 adults comfortably. Cottage was spotless, and outside breakfast didn't really use the kitchen area, which was adequately stocked with cooking, crockery etc. We brought our own toilet paper based on other comments. Grounds were well cared for, everything for us worked out fine.
