Penruddock 0.7 miles. Set in the village of Motherby, close to Penrudduck, just 6 miles from Pooley Bridge on the shores of Ullswater and 11 miles from Keswick in the beautiful Lake District is this sandstone fronted cottage, which is in a beautiful, peaceful location with stunning views across to the Ullswater fells. Ideal for a relaxing break, it offers the opportunity to take in the refreshing Cumbrian air and to immerse yourself in the surrounding, spellbinding countryside. The property offers spacious accommodation, which has been sympathetically renovated, with stone flag floors, beamed ceilings and an inglenook fireplace housing a woodburning stove.
On the ground floor, there is a wet room and a spacious open plan living area with french doors leading out to the enclosed garden, while upstairs on the first floor, there are two bedrooms and a modern bathroom , so after a day walking on the local fells, you can sink down into a lovely hot bath. Outside, is a well kept garden with patio area and plenty of space to enjoy the views, both during the day and at night when the stars will be bright due to the rural location. Situated on the edge of the Lake District, the beautiful village of Pooley Bridge, on the shores of Ullswater, is just a 12 minute drive away.
Here, you can embark on a cruise on the Ullswater Steamer and gently cruise down this enchanting lake to Glenridding, passing the impressive mountains that flank its sides. Why not head up to Keswick and enjoy a day browsing around the host of shops and cafes or wander down to Borrowdale? This cottage is also a very convenient base for sailors competing at Ullswater Yacht Club, as well as cyclists competing in the Cost-to-Coast cycle route. This cosy holiday home is perfect for couples, families and friends to explore this popular area in a super village with a wonderful pub close by.
The charming traditional village of Penruddock is situated in a secluded position in the northern Lake District between Keswick and Penrith, and just four miles from Ullswater. The popular town of Keswick is nearby and has a number of shops and restaurants, as well as miniature golf, good parks, the Theatre by the Lake and a cinema.

It is very comfortable, well equipped & maintained to a high standard with beautiful views to the rear. Comfy beds & very clean. Great communication from the owners who really care about their cottage & guests. We loved our few days here & would love to stay again sometime, it was an absolute treat.

Quiet village location with good access to northern fells and lakes, Penrith and Keswick. It was lovely in 2020 but now even better with upgrades the owner Helen has made. Attention to detail is wonderful with beautiful colours, fabrics, bathrooms etc. Good local pubs and off road parking for two cars. Beautiful views across to Ullswater fells. An excellent stay with hopes of returning.
