Please note: There are 5 steps in the grounds.. This delightful and charming, semi-detached Grade II listed cottage, adjacent to the owners home, dates from the 1600s and is set in its own delightful garden and with access to the owners’ grounds, in the quiet village of Little Strickland. Great care has been taken with the accommodation and it offers many interesting features including slate floors, and the beamed ceilings and wonderful wood burner all add to the character of The Barracks, making it well worth a visit whatever the time of year.
While Haweswater and Ullswater are a short drive from the cottage, the list of places you can explore and visit from here are endless, with the Eden valley and the Scottish Borders are all within easy driving distance. Shop 3 miles, pub and restaurant 2 miles.

Beautiful house and setting. Very clean and spacious. The gardens are very well kept and nice to sit in. The house is very rural which is what we like. The host was very attentive, we would stay again

We had a wonderful stay at The Barracks. It's a beautiful cottage with a beautiful garden and Mark is a very gracious host. There is lots to explore in the area. It's a perfect place for families with children (2).
