Its rural location is perfect for exploring the South Lakes, with a welcoming pub across the road offering great food. Guests appreciate the tranquil setting and beautiful views, though some mention the need for TLC and better communication.

The property generally receives positive remarks for cleanliness, though a few guests noted dust and cobwebs. The majority did not raise significant concerns, suggesting a good standard of cleanliness overall.

The location is highly praised for its tranquillity, rural charm, and proximity to local attractions. The nearby pub is a highlight for many guests, enhancing the location's appeal.

Guests find the annexe cosy and suitable for short stays, though some suggest improvements such as a sofa for added comfort. The warmth of the log burner is appreciated, but the lack of a cooker and some furniture preferences slightly affect the comfort score.

Facilities are adequate with essential kitchen equipment provided, but guests have noted issues with maintenance such as a blocked sink and non-working radiator. The absence of WiFi and difficulty with some appliances are drawbacks.

There is no mention of gifts or special touches that would indicate thoughtfulness from the host. Therefore, this category cannot be scored.

Perfect for 2. Great location in South Lakes, but easy drive to Ambleside, Windermere and surrounding area. Nearby hotel is very welcoming and has great food.

The write up for the cottage said electric cooker and there is no cooker other than a microwave combo which is NOT user friendly. There was dust everywhere especially under the bed and behind and below radiators. Would be better with a small sofa rather than 2 single chairs. No instructions for plug in radiators just complete guess work and although someone lit the log burner before we arrived it was stiflingly hot and we had to open doors and windows until it had gone down.

Overall a tranquil & peaceful retreat, which was the desired experience wanted. The annexe needs some tlc, but great rural location perfect for exploring the area. The Manor House across from the annexe is superb for food & hospitality.
