Ling Fell Cottage in Ulverston is highly praised for its cleanliness, comfort, and stunning location. Guests appreciate the well-equipped facilities and the property's suitability for both families and dogs. The beautiful garden and views are frequently mentioned, alongside the convenience for exploring the Lake District. Some concerns over price increases and recycling facilities were noted, but overall, guests report memorable stays and express desires to return.
The cottage receives high marks for cleanliness, with multiple reviews noting it as spotless and well-maintained. One mention of a less than perfectly clean bathroom and a stained duvet cover slightly impacts the score.
The location is celebrated for its picturesque setting and proximity to local attractions and walks. It serves as a great base for exploring the southern Lake District. The only minor drawback mentioned is the lack of a local shop within walking distance.
Comfort is consistently highlighted, with guests finding the beds very comfortable and the cottage cosy, especially with the wood burner. The spaciousness and warmth of the cottage contribute to the high comfort level.
Facilities are generally well-regarded, with the cottage being well-equipped and offering amenities like a wood burner, games, and DVDs. However, some guests noted the lack of recycling facilities and a secure garden for dogs, which suggests room for improvement.
While the reviews reflect a well-equipped cottage and mention the provision of detailed information booklets, there are no specific references to gifts or extra thoughtful touches provided by the hosts. Therefore, a score cannot be given for thoughtfulness.

Felt very homely.

Just a couple of things, there was an unpleasant smell in the single bedroom, dirty toilet brush and the bathroom wasnât 100% clean and what looked like a blood stain on one of the duvet covers. As a holiday cottage cleaner Iâm just going by my own standards. Overall a lovely stay.

The owners really have thought of everything to provide a comfortable stay. Very well equipped and a great location for visiting the southern and western lakes. We will be returning and thoroughly recommend it .
