The scattered hamlet of Crook lies between Kendal and the Lake District, only a few miles from Bowness and Lake Windermere and overlooking the serene Lyth Valley. Walking is excellent in the area, as is good eating with numerous nationally acclaimed country gastropubs to choose from. There's a pay & Play Golf course in the village too. For wider explorations through the Lake District, you'll find navigation easy. The B5284 'Crook road' carries you in 20 minutes’ drive Bowness and Lake Windermere, and immediately you're on the main scenic routes through the highlights of the Lake District. Back up the Crook Road in the other direction, and you’re in the market town of Kendal.
The pretty hamlet of Crook is situated in beautiful Lakeland countryside and offers excellent access to the heart of the Lake District National Park. There are two hotels/pubs in Crook itself and a wide variety of super walks on the surrounding fells. Less than six miles from Lake Windermere - England's longest lake - and a similar distance from all of the amenities of Kendal, Cumbria's historic market town.

The kids loved the comic selection and games to play with and it was very cosy and homely with the log burner lit.

Unable to sit out in the sun. The flooring was very dirty. I brushed the leaves etc without success. I was going to use water on it to give it a scrub but was not sure if water would drain away. On the whole we were very disappointed.

The only thing I struggle with was that I could not find any matches and it was a bit cold. But I borrowed some off the neighbour and then it was really toasty. The perils of no one smoking these days!! But generally was perfect!
