This light and airy holiday home has a south west facing living room with patio doors to a balcony and a large viewing window enjoying view to the lakes and fells. It is situated in an ideal location, perfect for anyone wishing to explore the lakes, almost every point of the compass offers a new sight. Travel north to Ambleside, Grasmere, or Ullswater (via Kirkstone Path, the highest road in the Lake District at 1489ft), west Coniston and the Furness Fells beyond, or south to Newby Bridge and Fell Foot Park. All local amenities, including shops, pubs, restaurants, a cinema, equestrian centre, and boat trips from the bay, are close at hand, and the lake is within a 5-10 minute walk.

Stayed at Lake View 24-31/7. At first was not able to find the entrance, over grown with trees and shrubs had to find something to remove the webs and spiders covering the key lock. Entrance up steep concrete steps which were again covered in leaves and some slightly slippery and had to push shrubs away to walk through. Once inside more steps to reach the living area. This was the first time for many years I have rented self catering accommodation to find not only no welcome pack but not even a scrap of soap in the bathroom to wash your hands. Some of the crockery was stained and had to be washed before use. No washing machine and only a small freezer in the top of the under counter refrigerator. The kitchen needs replacing especially the old, chipped cooker. On the plus side, the location was excellent, and the parking was appreciated. The beds and seating were clean and comfortable, unable to get the DVD player to work. The balcony also left a lot to be desired 2 x steel chairs and a metal table that needed a good scrub and artificial grass again tired looking. The appartmemt was well equipped, but second bedroom very small with no hanging space, if 2 couples sharing I would say one couple are going to be disappointed.Overall it lacked a bit of tlc.

The apartment is spacious comfortable beds, good location but thought there would be a better view of the lake as its quite a bit away. The furniture is quite dated and the balcony table and chairs are needing replaced, I would probably book again though

The property appeared to have been empty for a few days. The temperature was 37. There was no welcome pack. The information folder states the flat roof causes the temperature to rise. The time to be warned of this should be prior to booking.Several of the concrete steps are dangerously loose. It would be helpful to have 2 easy chairs in the main bedroom and a small TV. We spent most evenings sitting on the bed until the lounge had cooled a bit. Curtains would help keep out the heat of the sun . There is no blind in the bathroom, the property to the right can easily see through from their french windows.Some cutlery should be replaced particularly teaspoons are unhygienic.
