Just a short, level walk from the tourist hotspot of Bowness, Kim’s Retreat is the ideal venue for a centrally based Lakeland holiday for the smaller party. Surrounded by an eclectic mix of restaurants, award wining country pubs and an equally good choice of shopping, it’s easy to see why Bowness proves so popular. But for more traditional activities, why not take a trip on the famous steamers down to Lakeside, hire a rowing boat and paddle yourself around the many islands on Windermere or better still, enjoy a ride on the open top bus that regularly tours the area.

Kim's retreat is a great place to stay for access to the Lakes. Walking distance to Bowness (5 minutes) and Windermere (15 minutes) with the bonus of a parking space too. A lovely clean apartment with comfortable furniture and all the things you need for a cosy stay away. The king size bed was super comfortable and the shower amazing. Our only concern if we were to have one was it was a little cool in the lounge. The heater in the kitchen wasn't working so that may have added to it however all other rooms were warm enough. We would definitely stay here again.

Overall a very nice place to stay. Central for all amenities in Bowness and Windermere. Very handy for public transport. Very clean and well equipped. A parking space a big bonus. The only slight criticism would be that it does not feel very warm in the lounge in the colder months. Also the heater does not work in the kitchen. A small welcome pack would have been appreciated.
