Windermere is within a gentle 10-minute stroll where you will find a host of attractions, restaurants and shops, the town is well served by public transport so an ideal base for exploring the whole of the South Lakes without using your car.
Delightfully furnished and tastefully decorated, Moss Bank has been carefully prepared by the owners who have given much thought to providing for your every need. A well-equipped kitchen ensures you can get the very best out of your self-catering break whilst the comfortable lounge dining room is just the spot to enjoy a meal and some well-deserved precious time together. Lovely new bathrooms fitted in January 2024.

Very pleased with the cottage in many respects. ie New Smart TV and new bathrooms. On the negative side the cleanliness in the kitchen left something to be desired with cobwebs and grease on the extractor fan and the oven was greasy and generally dirty. Worktops dirty and utensils not clean. When we returned from a day out there was a musty smell that greeted you. Position of the cottage is great with bus stops at end of the road. The whole place needs a good clean and redecorating.

House wasn't far from the station but still requires a bus or taxi ride, particularly if you're travelling via train like we did. The bus stops are 2mins from the house which is ideal. The weather was snowy, wet and cold while we were there and unfortunately like previous people have commented, the double glazing is old and needs replacing as there is a lot of draft coming through, as well as previously mentioned, there was no curtains up at the back of the lounge which not only affects keeping the warmth in, it is also a security issue as can be looked in from the road at the back of the house.The house itself is well equipped, proper hair dryer in one of the bedrooms and hot water bottles. The kitchen was also well equipped with plenty of cutlery and crockery and cooking utensils. Bath towels a little on the small side but provided. The bathroom was lovely with lovely hot water for good bath and showers.Unfortunately when plugging chargers in and the cd player at the back of the beds, we noticed a lot of dust and cobwebs so attention to detail when cleaning could be better.Overall a nice stay but could be better with improvements as mentioned.

Our 1st stay in this lovely cottage which had everything we needed. Located in a quiet close a couple of minutes drive from the Centre of Windermere. At the top of the close were the bus stops for the local buses if you wanted to leave the car at home. These were handy to get to Bowness, Ambleside, Keswick, Coniston. It's not very often we have stopped in a property and not found some fault but this was one of those occasions. We've already booked for November 2026.
