The cottage is set in over five acres of parkland and idyllic gardens, which include classic borders, colourful roses and orchards of fruit trees. This charming cottage can sleep up to 23, with rooms in Scotgate Cottage and Scotgate Barn. With three reception areas and an additional games room, there is plenty of space to keep everyone entertained.

There is a pretty courtyard area where you can sit back and relax in the glorious sunshine   Expect to find a heated indoor swimming pool, hot tub and large sauna room. This cottage is home to an immaculate multi-sports court, perfect for staying active during your break. There is a summer house nearby to the well-stocked fishing lake with a pontoon. The village of Hockham is just down the road with its pub, along with Thetford Forest

Scotgate Cottage is a wonderful big holiday home in Norfolk. Spacious and welcoming, it's ideal for groups of family and friends who want to stay in comfort while enjoying a long-awaited reunion, special celebration, or relaxing retreat from the hustle and bustle of busy daily life. There's space for 23 people to sleep and dine, with Scotgate Cottage sleeping 17 people in 7 bedrooms while the Barn Annex sleeps 6. Amenities include an indoor pool and sauna, five acres of gardens and parkland, a carp lake for fishing, a tennis court, and a games room. This fantastic venue offers a variety of activities to keep you entertained, and it's only eight miles north of Thetford on the edge of Thetford Forest Park and half a mile from The Eagle pub in Great Hockham. This property is dog friendly and it is a £30 per dog fee. 

Thetford and the surrounding region are gorgeous spots for a self-catering holiday with friends in Norfolk. It has miles of cycling routes and footpaths and is blessed with a satellite of pretty villages like Hockham, where you'll find independent tea rooms, farm shops, and artisan producers crafting beautiful food and objects. You don't need to look much further, and you're in the ancient city of Norwich or sunning yourself on the sandy beaches of the spectacular Norfolk coast. Bury St Edmunds has impressive Georgian buildings and a twice-weekly market every Wednesday and Saturday. It is only 20 miles from Scotgate Cottage.

Days out can include sightseeing and punting on the River Cam in Cambridge or strolling in the Suffolk seaside town of Lowestoft. Alternatively, stay at the house and arrange for a massage and beauty therapist to treat you to a pamper party. When it's time to leave, there's no better souvenir to take home than a bottle of Scotgate rum, gin and schnapps to relive the happy memories when you get home.

Scotgate Cottage is a rural 1950s holiday home in Norfolk with accommodation over two floors. You will have sole use of the house and grounds.

Scotgate Barn: a modern barn conversion next to the main house sleeps four people in two bedrooms with space for two more on a sofa bed in the living room. It's completely self-contained, with a kitchen and a shower room.

Outside: A pool house has an indoor pool heated to a lovely 28C all year round. Open the bifold doors onto the patio in hot weather for the ultimate holiday lifestyle. A hot tub and a sauna add to the fun. Scotgate Cottage has a patio courtyard with seating, a Tiki Bar, a pizza oven, and a BBQ. A further 5 acres feature a carp lake for fishing, tennis courts, lawns, and gardens.

Additional Information: Utilities, WiFi, bed linen, bath towels and pool towels are provided. Well-behaved dogs are welcome by arrangement. Smoking indoors or in the pool house is not allowed. Also provided – One travel cot, one highchair, hair dryer per bedroom, iron with ironing board and outdoor dog kennel (if required)
