About this property

Complimentary Welcome Hamper

A complimentary welcome hamper will be awaiting you on your arrival containing milk, tea, fresh coffee, bread, butter, eggs, juice, wine and cheese, along with other essential items to prepare a light snack or breakfast. There may be some regional variations.

This beautiful 400 year old former Malthouse, looking out over wooded and tranquil countryside, offers modern first class facilities while preserving its character as a Grade II listed building.

Underfloor heating, top grade insulation and a wood burning stove (from Autumn 2016) ensure comfort all the year round. Two double bedrooms, two bath/shower rooms (one en suite) and a large living area on a single level provide a wonderfully well-equipped, spacious, and peaceful place to stay.

The property lies down a very quiet lane just over a mile from Reepham, which has a beautiful Georgian market place. Just over 100 yards from The Malthouse is the Marriott’s Way, a former railway transformed into a 26 mile ‘green corridor’ to Norwich. This area is exceptionally rich in historic towns, buildings and National Trust sites with Holt, Blickling, Felbrigg and Norwich of exceptional interest. Cromer and the beautiful North Norfolk coast can be reached in 40 minutes.

Excellent accommodation and very friendly and generous owners. Loved the location and the area which was new to us. Will be returning to the same place at a later date to continue our exploring

What a lovely place to stay! The Malthouse was very clean, thankfully very cool and well equipped. We were greeted not only with a lovely luxurious hamper and toiletries but a welcome party of 5 chickens roaming freely around the private garden area.. :)The owners were very friendly and more than happy to point out little gems to visit off the beaten track aswell as the main attractions in Norfolk, very much appreciated. We took advantage of the loop walk from the house on the Marriott’s Way back into Reepham. The cottage was in an ideal location, within driving distance of the beaches, NT properties and the bigger towns, but quiet and relaxing enough just to get away from it all and even do a little stargazing. All in all spot on for us. Thank you.

Probably not as clean as the other two properties we have stayed in. however, location was faultless. It was rather rustic with an exceptionally low beam with wasn't mentioned in the literature.
