We have just come back from a wonderful holiday in Norfolk and Starboard cottage was a big part of it! Such a beautiful cottage, uniquely decorated and in the best location. They have actually thought about everything in this cottage ,all the things I normally wished I bought were there! As well as games, books, dvds etc.A delicious cake, wine, sweets, dog biscuits even milk were also left by Jan the owner who is always on hand any problems. We loved the pub across the road, the tea room and enjoyed the live music at Seal View.We had the perfect time and cant wait to come back xxxxx

Starboard Cottage is absolutely beautiful, the location is fabulous, the local cafe and fish and chip shop are a short walk and are both great. The beach is one of the most beautiful I have been to in this country and was not crowded even in the August week we were there. We had a problem locking the French doors one evening and the owner came round the next morning after I messaged her, such a good service. There are a couple of things we had an issue with, the freezer in the kitchen desperately needs defrosting, we couldn’t use the top drawer at all and the other two drawers were difficult. We also found the fridge quite small for six people, we couldn’t get all our vegetables in after our Tesco delivery. It did say in the description that there was a fridge/freezer in the kitchen and a freezer in the utility room but there wasn’t. Perhaps the details need updating. The description of bedroom 2 and 3 is also slightly misleading, it says the en-suite is accessed from the landing for both rooms when, in fact, it is a ‘jack and Jill’ shower room, separate doors from each bedroom into the shower room. This proved slightly difficult for us and the head height is quite restricted.. My adult daughter and I had to use the smallest of the bedrooms as we couldn’t put a 5 year old in the room with the stairs quite near the bed with nothing to stop her falling if she got up in the night. This room could really do with a bit more storage for undies etc, there is no space for a chest of drawers. As much as I loved this cottage, the bedroom/ shower room situation would prevent me from booking again but after speaking to the owner I discovered that she has other cottages in the village which may suit our family unit much better.Although there were a couple of issues for us I would definitely recommend staying in this beautiful cottage, it is so tastefully decorated and we all really appreciated the lovely cake and bottle in the fridge. We will definitely return to Winterton on sea, thank you Jan for a lovely holiday in your gorgeous chocolate box cottage.
