With a sweeping sandy beach bordered by pinewoods and colourful beach huts, a quay where children can fish for crabs, and a leafy green known as The Buttlands, it’s the epitome of a family-friendly seaside destination. Immediately to the west is the Holkham Estate (5 miles) with its own famous beach, stately home and nature reserve. 15 miles east, Blakeney is where you can take a boat trip to see the seals and bird sanctuary at Blakeney Point.
